Essex Junction Little League is a volunteer operated organization.  All the planning, coordination, coaching, cooking, transportation, field work and more is done by volunteers from our community, many of whom are parents of players.  For their time we say, thank you.  Our Little League would not happen without the many hours donated to support youth recreation and fun!

If you would like to volunteer, please fill out a volunteer registration form.  We accept volunteers for any role, no matter length of time you have to offer....and it is appreciated.  The roles we are always looking to fill are:

Head Coach: Take the lead role!  No experience necessary, especially for the younger groups.  Our board members with experience will support you as you organize your players, your practices and create a fun environment for the kids.  Your goal is to make it fun, keep it safe, encourage the kids and help develop a love for baseball.
Assistant Coach: Support the head coach!  Even less experience necessary.  Show up and keep the fun moving.  The head coach will be at their best when they have reliable support and that can be you! You'll be on the field and in the dugout
Chaos Cultivators (Team Parents): Every team has a memorable season when their is a person supporting all the stuff that goes on off the field (and sometimes on the field).  Support a team by helping with communication to all families, organizing other volunteers, supporting pre and post game activities and snacks and whatever other creative ideas you have to make baseball fun for kids!
Snack Bar Superstar: The snack bar is the center of attention for many folks at the field and you can be the Superstar that helps feed families, satisfies a kids sweet tooth and supports one of the leagues only annual fundraisers.  Put a smile on the faces of all those folks at Maple Street Park!
Press Box Phenom: Everyone loves to hear their name called and listen to the summer-time tunes coming from the speakers at the ballpark.  You can be that MC and DJ!  We also ask that you support clicking the numbers on the scoreboard, but that is the easy part.  Make a party at the field each night!
Dirt Doctors & Diamond Guardians (Field Maintenance): We have the best fields around (thanks to our wonderful partners EJRP and Mr. Dewitt) and community support keeps them that way.  Bring your skill and effort to the field to keep it looking great!
Umpires: No experience necessary!  Just a cool, calm demeanor and desire to support fun for the kids, the parents and the coaches as they learn the game of baseball.  You'll be on field calling balls and strikes and our coaches and board members with experience will support you. Fun umpires can make all the difference!
Board Member: Any member of the community can be on the board! If you want to help shape the Little League experience for our youngsters, this role is for you.  Attend one meeting a month (usually a regular weeknight evening) and do your homework between meetings.  As the season approaches and get underway, Board Members spend more time on the field or supporting teams, families and coaches in a hands-on way. The busiest months are April-June.

Little League is dedicated to creating a safe environment for kids and families, so all volunteers  MUST register and complete a background screening each year.
